Description: Zofenopril calcium is an inhibitor of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE inhibitor). Angiotensin I & II control the tone of the blood vessels and are part of the Renin Angiotensin aldosterone system. The increase in angiotensin II leads to a reduction in vascular tone, which leads to lower blood pressure. Therefore, it is used in the therapy of arterial hypertension and acute heart attacks.
