Description: Ranolazine is a chiral piperazine derivative that works against hypoperfusion of the heart (angina pectoris). Both stereoisomers are pharmacologically active. It relieves chest pain in stable conditions. It is only given if the patient does not tolerate the common remedies (β-blockers, calcium antagonists) or if they do not work sufficiently.
