Apixaban

Cat. No.: PI503612473

Description: Apixaban is an anti-clotting substance used to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism (blood coagulation) in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart rhythm that is not caused by a heart valve problem).Atrial fibrillation (AF) occurs when the two upper chambers (atria) of the heart do not contract properly, allowing formation of blood clots, which can travel to other parts of the body. When a clot blocks blood flow to the heart or the brain, a heart attack or stroke can follow. Blood clots can wreak havoc in other parts of the body as well.
